A collaboration between Alessandro Di Benedetto and naval architect Alain Mortain has resulted in a new version of the Feeling 44: in particular, the Italian navigator (a Vendée Globe and round-the-world voyage aboard a 6 1/2-footer behind him) advised on ergonomics and safety to make it even more suitable for the owner who wants to undertake long sailings.

NEW KEEL SYSTEM
The main technical difference from the first Feeling 44 (launched in 2002 by Alliaura Marine, now Privilege Marine) is the change in the center of gravity, with a lighter lifting keel (the total keel, made of cast iron, is 3,650 kg. Changes also in the drift case and the lifting system. The keel can be raised and lowered manually, with the assistance of electric winches, easily and reliably. The Feeling 44 will also feature a carbon shaft in the standard version.
INTERIOR
While maintaining the same standard in joinery and finishes, the square offers different styles depending on the choice of materials. It is organized around a central cabinet, equipped with a double stainless steel sink, aft of the central table. To the left is the chart table in front of the bathroom, to starboard is the kitchen with stove and oven. Further forward, a settee to starboard and an L-shaped one to port. The forward master cabin is large and spacious and has a dedicated bathroom with shower stall. In the three-cabin aft version there is room for two doubles, and in the two-cabin version the one on the left is replaced by a technical area: this configuration is designed for long sailings.
