Even refreshment, at TAG Heuer VELAFestival, turns into a unique experience: this is thanks to the exceptional locations of the two bars/rest stops you can find at the great sailing festival. The Beach Village Bar is on the beach-one of the very few in Santa Margherita-that overlooks the gulf of Portofino; the other is located in the spectacular 500-square-meter tent in the Hospitality area that-just like an expo-style work of art-is “hung” over the harbor cove. From here you can enjoy the view of the Tigullio while sprawled out on the relaxing sea-fabric cushions, but not only that: here you can check out the spectacular non-stop sailing videos.
GOOD FOOD AT LOW PRICES
We usually complain at fairs about food costs being too high. Since the VELAFestival is not a fair (we will never get tired of repeating this) but a real festival, the prices of the products offered are also low, compared to the excellent quality guaranteed by the staff of the Skipper restaurant/bar, one of the top-rated venues in Santa Margherita. Brioches, Ligurian flatbreads (the one with onion is excellent, one euro), stuffed sandwiches and scones (two euros), various drinks, ice creams and cocktails, and a real “treat”: the pistachio tiramisu (three euros), a secret recipe of Suni, the Skipper’s cook.
THE LUNCH BAG FOR THE SAILING CUP
Are you participating in the VELA Cup? You will be able to order the “Lunch Bag” (sandwich, water and fruit) for only 5 euros, saving you the trouble of making your own sandwiches. It must be reserved by Friday evening, 7, at the VELA Cup desk.
