What’s new at Solaris: after the success of the 48-footer (launched in 2006), the Aquileia (Udine) shipyard renews its challenge to the 15-footer segment by proposing a new 50′ model entrusted to the pencil of the great designer Javier Soto Acebal, and which will be ready for launch next November. The initial idea of updating the solutions adopted on a successful model and repurposing them on the 50′ now gives way to a more ambitious and innovative project that redefines the standards of the category for the next decade.
THE NEW SOLARIS 50 IN 10 POINTS
– After the sea confirmations of the hulls of the 44, 58 and 72, the hull of the new 50 represents the latest evolutionary step in Soto Acebal’s designs where hull balance manifests itself with high performance and smooth passage over the wave;
– Functional and minimalist deck gear distribution – only 4 winches near the wheels – to allow comfortable maneuvering from the wheelhouse, thanks also to the self-tacking jib with recessed rail;
– Fully retractable spray hood;
– Integrated bowsprit to tack sails for new generation of load-bearing gaits such as gennaker and code0;
– Cove sails of a size to allow for a sailor’s berth;
– Also the second bathroom with separate shower and attached waxed closet with drip pan in the shower bilge;
– Aft cabin with 2 separate beds of standard size;
– Improved distribution of space in dinette: larger galley with storage and drawer refrigerator: possibility of 2 chart versions–sideboard and traditional–both with guard berth vs. sofa;
– Spacious tender garage for boat stowage with aft hatch allowing extraction without turning;
– Dedicated raft compartment.
