An approach that, on the one hand, takes into account precise formal and aesthetic requirements and, on the other hand, must consider well-defined production criteria. This is probably the key to understanding the role the designer must play today.

Presentation 2--Nuvolari-Lenard

A role that the second issue of Top Yacht Design attempts to answer starting with the work done by Carlo Nuvolari and Dan Lenard on the new Monte Carlo Yachts 105. An approach that is also found in the many projects that crowd the News Room spaces at the opening of the magazine.

COVER-TYD-02- for webA space that welcomes an overview of the newest and most innovative things that can help paint a portrait of yacht design, from concepts such as Oceanco’s Stiletto, to the new Swan 54, to the Reichel Pugh Nauta Baltic 130′ to Franck Muller Yachts‘ newest addition.

3B-ESTER III presentation

A series of designs and sailing and motor yachts of different sizes and settings not only in style that are a demonstration of the design and construction skills of designers and shipyards that has in the restoration of Sea Homand, 1919 shuttle restored to its original splendor or in Vitalia II, incredible result of transforming a record-breaking ocean catamaran into a super-fast cruising catamaran around the world as many examples.

5-SEAHOME presentation

A series of views of the concept of going to sea and designing what goes to sea into which an indispensable element of any form of design is inserted: color.

An element that is the subject of Color Coloris ‘s research as well as Portopiccolo, the village on the Adriatic Sea just a stone’s throw from Trieste, is an example of how it is possible to live overlooking the sea in new ways by combining aesthetic and formal values with the demands of proper economic management. An approach and a key to understanding the role of the designer, in the broadest sense of the term and also passing through the car-designers’ quest for safety in the Volvo XC90, which forms the thread of this second issue of Top Yacht Design.
