And China landed in Italy. At the TAG Heuer VELAFestival (Santa Margherita Ligure, May 7-10) the Chinese shipyard Fareast makes its debut, with a model that has already been successful worldwide, the Fareast 26.
WHAT A BOAT IT IS.
The FAREAST 26 inaugurated the fruitful partnership between Fareast Yacht Shipyard and the Simonis-Voogd design studio. Its hull lines have brought it to prominence already in the racing world. The properly organized deck layout provides safety, security, but also allows easy conduct. All rigging is sent back to the cockpit, where we also find self-tailing winches. The shipyard then paid special attention to weight reduction, achieved through the use of carbon and sandwich construction, among other things. For deck equipment Fareast relied on Harken, while rigging is Selden and sails are North Sails.
Interesting then is the exploitation of interior space, which makes the best use of the height of the deckhouse and where we find four beds.
