The drama of the massacre that took place on Jan. 7 at the newsroom of the French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo is still fresh and has turned the spotlight on this historic satirical periodical. So much so that we find ourselves with the irreverent cover you see in this news and which, ironically, bears the date of another January seven, that of 1974. Protagonist, French legend par excellence, Eric Tabarly.

The great French navigator was taking part in the first round-the-world voyage at the helm of the Pen Duick VI. After disalberating in the first leg, thus immediately putting aside hopes of final victory, he lost the mast a second time, soon after leaving for the third leg. The crew therefore spent a period in Sydney, waiting for another mast to be built. And he received this issue number of Charlie Hebdo. Needless to say, they hung him on board.
