With its six hundred and fifty berths between 8 and 35 meters, the Cala de Medici marina remains among the liveliest and most active on the Tuscan coast. Confirming its continued evolution, maintenance work on the breakwater began last April, aimed at moving wave breaking further offshore, resulting in safer inland waters.
With the dam improvement work, Cala de’ Medici becomes the only port in Tuscany with ninety available berths from 25 to 35 meters. With the arrival of summer, the busy entertainment program in the shopping village also comes back to life, with several evenings of music and entertainment, making this marina the true hub of life on land as well.
To make Cala de’ Medici’s services even more usable, a brand new application was recently launched that allows users to consult and book directly from a PC, tablet or smartphone any service, from berth to electric car rental, from jet ski to boat cleaning, from business dinner to mooring assistance.
Another resource of the Port is the historic Cala de’ Medici Yacht Club, which is the result of collaboration with the Marina, but more importantly the resourcefulness and involvement of club members. Among them, next September (on Sept. 26 and 27) the “La Rotta del Vino” event returns, with regattas combined with culinary trials and events designed to highlight the excellence of the area. All for charitable purposes. Finally, the special attention to the environment and water quality has allowed Porto Cala de’ Medici to obtain the Blue Flag for 2015 as well, indicating the marina’s ecological excellence: this is the fifth consecutive, no small achievement.
