Ten years and not feeling it. The desire to grow together with the passion for deep-sea sailing of the more than 300 boats and 3,000 sailors who have taken part and who have accompanied us in the nine editions held so far since 2005. Welcome to the 10th Palermo-Montecarlo, 10th anniversary edition: a celebration of the sea to be experienced by many and together, in the heart of next summer, with many new features.
The starting signal will be given at 12 noon on August 21 in the Gulf of Mondello in front of the Circolo della Vela Sicilia. The boats will have to sail to the flying gate in Porto Cervo, and then they can decide to leave Corsica to port or starboard and head for the finish in Monte Carlo.
A fascinating sea adventure, which for its 10th birthday prepares many new features. The final awards party will be in the sumptuous new headquarters of the Yacht Club de Monaco, designed by archistar Norman Foster.
THE PALERMO-MONTECARLO X 2: A NEW CHALLENGE
Another novelty of the 10-year anniversary is the opening of the regatta to crews in doubles: thus was born the Palermo-Montecarlo x 2, from the request of many owners to be able to measure themselves in a new challenge. The organizing committee immediately seized the opportunity to create this trophy that further enriches the value of the event.
Whether in pairs or crews, the 2014 Palermo-Montecarlo is confirmed as one of the Mediterranean’s major regattas, an important stage of the Italian Offshore Championship of the FIV, a circuit that awards the Italian title of large offshore sailing.
