Beneteau double blow: new Oceanis 35 and 60 arrive

beneteu-35-60Two major new developments at Beneteau. The new Oceanis 35 and 60 add to the French shipyard’s range of “multipurpose” cruisers. Both models will be presented at the Cannes Motor Show.

Oceanis 35 - Chantier Beneteau - Ile d'Yeu (FRA,85) - 06/26/2014OCEANIS 35, THE LITTLE BIG BOAT
On the heels of the success of the Oceanis 38, the French shipyard Beneteau replicates with the new 35, which takes up the winning features of its big brother (but turns out to be a boat, being 9.99 m long): first and foremost, modularity, which allows it to be outfitted according to the owner’s needs.

Oceanis 35 - Chantier Beneteau - Ile d'Yeu (FRA,85) - 06/26/2014The basic layout, called Daysailer, where the interior bulkheads (except for the bathroom) have been abolished to create a large open space; the “Weekender“, open space but with the possibility of getting two or three aft cabins; and the “Cruiser“, more classic, with two or three cabins and a linear galley cabinet that goes all the way to the starboard broadside in the saloon. Unmissable is the rollbar and the lines of the “angular” hull. Naval architecture is by the Finot-Conq studio while the interiors are the brainchild of the Italians at Nauta.

OC-60-1THE NEW FLAGSHIP, THE OCEANIS 60
But that’s not all: the Oceanis range will also be enriched by the new flagship, the 60-footer (renderings of which are available for now). The hull line is designed to reduce the heeling angle and optimize sailing performance. Completely unprecedented, the rear deck extends the outdoor living area. Below the deck, the bathing platform automatically encloses the dedicated compartment for the tender. The flagship is offered with three- or four-cabin layouts, and the interiors are meticulously designed in every detail, with special attention paid to the research of volumes and materials. Again they are by Nauta, while the naval architecture is by the Berret-Racoupeau firm.
