Benbow was built in 1973 by the Dutch Royal Huisman shipyard specializing in aluminum construction with teak deck and deckhouse. The design of this 65-footer is by Dick Carter. Always owned by the Recchi family, the Benbow has had a long regatta life with three Middle Sea Races won in a row in the 1970s and the Giraglia record won in 1984 and maintained until 1998. This boat features the double wheelhouse, an unusual solution in the years in which it was built: Dick Carter was one of the first to use the double wheel solution on a large scale. The interior includes a master cabin, two guest cabins with double berths, and a crew cabin.
