For more than twenty-five years, the Forli-based company has been a market leader thanks to continuous technological evolution and the use of innovative materials.

logo bamar no furlThe BAMAR brand represents a founding reality in the world of modern boating and has been on the market for more than 25 years with the aim of innovating the relationship between man, sea and sail through the introduction of technologically advanced equipment that can make sailing operations automatic. In September 2012, the BAMAR brand was acquired by ZATTINI GROUP srl, a company with high production capabilities, thanks to a fleet of technologically advanced CNC machines. Innovation is the hallmark of the Brand, which today is a leader in the field of shipboard rigging management systems, sail furling systems, hydraulic and electrical systems and accessories. Reliability, performance and aesthetics coexist through innovative materials and novel manufacturing choices. Experience has allowed constant evolution in the direction of “easy sailing.” Thanks to innovative technology, care for design and versatility of use, BAMAR products find application in even the most cutting-edge architectural and furniture creations. Roller blind systems, manual and electric, which are commonly used aboard boats, can help create unique works such as the Bubble, designed by architect Renzo Piano for the G8 summit in Genoa. BAMAR electric furlers were used for this project, which allow the sails hoisted inside the structure to move. ZATTINI GROUP engineering today develops high-tech CAD projects and is committed to experimenting with new materials and solutions that can overcome any possible navigation contingencies. The complex study of materials and strength of components makes it possible to decrease weights and provide the design with an additional guarantee of performance and safety. The validity of BAMAR’s innovations is evidenced by awards at prestigious international venues and by sea tests on racing boats that become severe test beds. Finally, BAMAR holds the International Patent RollGen, the revolutionary system that allows for the furling of non-inferred sails.

This latest innovation features a structural drum with a restraining top to be used in conjunction with NO TORSION stays. Light, low and functional: features achieved through the use of materials such as Ergal and 17-4PH steel. Made “from solid” through the use of CNC machinery, it uses high load bearings to ensure perfect sliding. The range consists of 5 sizes 3, 5, 8, 10, 15 T. This new type of furler is widely used on “race” boats such as Class 40, Open 50, Imoca 60, but its use is not reserved exclusively for extremely high performance boats. In fact, it is often used to make foresail furlers for removable forestays that make lighter and more functional sail plans that previously involved heavy, non-removable stainless steel forestays with rigid profiles.

The evolution of technology in the sailing industry is increasingly toward servo mechanisms of the highest quality, performance, and reliability. BAMAR offers this new line of electric winders that provide unique performance, higher pulling capacity, very low maintenance, and simplicity in installations. The reversible winding is based on a high-efficiency planetary mechanism, while an electro-magnetic (E/M) brake ensures its mechanical locking, both after complete winding and in the vela terzarolata position. The shape of the motorization body, machined from solid Ergal, is extremely compact creating an innovative and functional aesthetic. LL manual emergency engagement is on both sides of the motorization and does not rotate during normal electrical operation for the benefit of convenience and safety. The range consists of three sizes for both rope and ROD stays from Ø12 (-22) to Ø28 (-91).
