With a name like that, you can’t go wrong. WinWin is the new Baltic 108, built in Finland and ready to sail from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean, where she will spend her first winter on the water. From the cold of Northern Europe to the warm waters of the Caribbean, this project, signed by the young Javier Jaudenes, seeks to satisfy two widespread needs of today’s boat owners: on the one hand, the desire to cruise with all the comforts and be able to take the boat even with a small crew, and on the other hand, the desire for fierce competitions with a full crew that rules the Maxi Yachts field.
33 METERS FOR ONLY 75 TONS
Thus, the effort was aimed at maximum weight reduction without at the same time sacrificing on-board comfort. And the numbers prove it: 75 tons of weight is little for a 33-meter monster. Hull and deck are constructed of prepreg carbon sandwich. Equipped with lifting keel, the Baltic 108 also includes a retractable propeller for maximum sailing performance. The interior, designed by Mark Tucker, features a minimalist style. The bright and cozy living room features plenty of seating. The exteriors, on the other hand, provide an elegant single-level cockpit: sunbeds are provided on both sides as well as an efficient maneuvering area for racing.
ELEGANCE AND SILENCE ON THE WATER
Another guiding element of the design is the pursuit of maximum sound insulation, to improve the comfort of both motoring and sailing. Then one of WinWin’s shipbuilding features is an innovative automatic glass bulkhead that separates the deck saloon from the cockpit, this system rises and falls at discretion, creating a constant relationship between inside and outside and nullifying the differences-a solution we have already seen on several occasions on many catamarans. Data: length. 33.04 m; wd. 7.63; pesc. 3.50/5.50: displ. 77,400 kg; zav. 30,600 kg; prog. Javier Jaudenes. www.balticyachts.fi
