Part of a larger project to promote youth sailing, supported by Kinder+Sport, is the new SailingMaker, which the FIV recently unveiled and will soon be available to Italian sailing schools.
Made by the Italian company ETS Elettronica, the simulator is designed in two models: the OPTI-Simulator, aimed at younger children and able to faithfully reproduce the on-water behavior of an Optimist, and the SAILMAKER-Standard, suitable for older dinghy racers. The zones may also provide for their use as part of the VelaScuola activity, the project that the IVF has been carrying out for years now with the MIUR and which represents the first federal intervention to bring young people closer to sailing.
Given the characteristics of the equipment, which can be easily transported and set up both outdoors and indoors, zonal delegations will be able to schedule traveling tours that make this new tool available to various school districts, even those farther from the coasts.
