Highly anticipated, the new Advanced A80 took to the water in Pesaro. The Italian shipyard’s flagship thus joins its smaller siblings, theA44 and A66.
The very team that conceived the Advanced A66 is the same one “behind” this new creation-John Reichel and Jim Pugh and Italian yacht designers Mario Pedol and Massimo Gino of Nauta Yachts. They opted for a rather sagging maximum beam, which ensured immense interior space while maintaining a streamlined deckhouse (here the signature of Italian studio Nautia is undeniable).
The name of this maxi yacht is Apsaras, the etymology of which goes back to the two nouns “ap” (water) and “sar” (to move), and indicates the female spirit of clouds and waters, in Hindu and Buddhist mythologies. The date for the public? It will be at the fall shows in Cannes and Monaco.
Data: length. 23.98 m: larg. 6.20 m ; disl. 39.7 kg sup. vel. 326 sq. m. www.advancedyachts.it

Maine, Rockport Harbor. A rare sight for recent times: a Maxi launched on America’s Atlantic coast, rather than in Europe. And the revival of tradition does not stop there. 95 feet (28.96m) long Project Ouzel is indeed an interesting hull
