The 2015 TAG Heuer VELAFestival will take place in an exceptional location, Santa Margherita Ligure, one of the most fascinating, characteristic and surprising natural harbors and seaside town in Italy and the Mediterranean, a stone’s throw from Portofino and in the center of the mythical Tigullio Gulf.
Easily accessible from all over Italy by road and rail networks and from all over the world due to the proximity of Genoa airport, 30 minutes’ drive from “Santa.”
Favorable period
The early May period, from the 7th to the 10th, allows for pleasant weather in Santa Margherita Ligure (average temperatures of 18 degrees, highs 23; lows 14) without still having the crush of the summer period. The period was specially chosen after the long holiday bridge on April 25/May 1) to facilitate the influx of the public.
It is also a time when no other relevant sailing events take place.
Opportunities
Such an attractive location will allow visitors to extend their visit to the Velafestival by making it into a small vacation discovering eastern Liguria, starting in Portofino and ending in Sestri Levante and continuing to the Cinque Terre.
The VELAFestival will take place in Santa Margherita Ligure near the renowned little village Portofino, one of the most enchanting seaside place in Italy and in the world. Getting there is very easy and accessible to everyone. You can reach it by car through the nearby highway or by flying to Genoa airport, just 30 minutes far by car.
