Minus one to go for the record-breaking 151 Mile. As many as 155 boats have registered for the “long” event, which in its sixth edition is already a cult following. Twenty more than last year! Lots of side events, a beautiful course and no-holds-barred racing are the ingredients of 151’s success.
A BEAUTIFUL PATH
Divided into the two classes ORC International and IRC, the record fleet of the regatta organized by the Punta Ala Yacht Club and the Yacht Club Repubblica Marinara di Pisa with the Yacht Club Livorno, after leaving the city of Labria on Saturday afternoon, will color the sea area surrounding the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago with sails, ready to sail the 151-mile Livorno-Marina di Pisa-Giraglia-island of Elba-Formiche di Grosseto-island of Sparviero-Punta Ala route. A course full of fascination and with very particular technical characteristics, suitable both for neophytes of the great offshore, who by never straying too far from the coast can navigate in total peace and safety, and for professional sailors, grappling with a navigation where the many tactical and strategic choices hold a fundamental importance for the final result.
RELATED EVENTS
Appointments not to be missed, the exclusive crew party in Marina di Pisa, scheduled for tonight, and the skippers’ briefing, which will be hosted in the YC Livorno spaces at 12 noon on Saturday, a few hours before the start. Once the regatta is over, the party will continue at Punta Ala Marina, where the first boats are expected on Sunday morning and where A series of events is scheduled for Monday, culminating in the 151 Mile Board Game tournament, in the regattaʼs prize-giving ceremony in the piazzetta and the subsequent, spectacular evening that will take place in the magnificent outdoor spaces of the Punta Ala Yacht Club, by the sea. www.151miglia.it
