Choosing which watermaker to install on board can be an important step for many shipowners, especially those who have never had one. Today’s watermakers are getting smaller and … increasingly smart, like those from Hp Watermakers that integrate seamlessly with on-board instrumentation.

HERE YOU WILL FIND THE ENTIRE LINE OF HP WATERMAKERS

The SC series going smart

Among the desalinators produced by Lombard HP Watermakers, the SC series stands out. This line can produce up to 440 liters of fresh water per hour thanks to four osmotic membranes. Automation is the strong point of HP-brand desalinators, especially if you choose the Rp Tronic and the interface Part-Net. With these options we will have automatic pressure regulation and compatibility with virtually all interfaces using the NMEA 2000 standard (Garmin, Raymarine, Navico, etc.). The application to command thedesalination plant will appear within the multifunction display already installed on board, with no need for additional screens and buttons.

The portable softener

If you do not need a watermaker on board or do not have the space to install one, you can opt for Demi5 softener. It is a plug and play system for decrease water hardness containing limestone, such as that in the harbor, and use it, for example, to fill tanks with limestone-free water or to clean the boat. It weighs just 15 kilograms, can produce 1,000 liters of softened water per hour, and all you need to do to get it up and running is to connect it to a pump/faucet. No power or electricity is needed, just change the filter once a year!
