“If with the 14.98 our focus was to seek out 80 percent sport cruisers and 20 percent racers, with the new 12.98 we can talk about a 50-50, so an even more ambitious challenge,” he had presented it this way Maurizio Cossutti the new Italy Yachts 12.98 at the Genoa Boat Show. And now the shipyard has unveiled much more detailed images of the Bellissima version of the boat, the one that is more cruising-oriented in terms of finish and rigging layout, which is also the first we will soon see in the water in Italy. However, the other version will be the Fuoriserie, dedicated to sport sailors and racers.
“If with the 14.98 our focus was to seek out 80 percent sport cruisers and 20 percent racers, with the new 12.98 we can talk about a 50-50, so an even more ambitious challenge,” he had thus began Maurizio Cossutti at the presentation of the new Italy Yachts 12.98, whose design had been unveiled to the press at the Genoa Boat Show.
Cossutti Yacht Design, which was also entrusted with the 20.98, was also in charge of this new hull: Maurizio Cossutti will take care of the water lines, with the exteriors entrusted to Alessandro Ganz, who is now the second soul of the Italian firm. For the interiors, Italia Yachts confirms the partnership with Mirko Arbore, a whimsical Apulian deisgner, who is active internationally and has also landed in yachting for a few years now, recently defined in a Forbes article as “The Coolest Italian Designer.”
THE NEW CHALLENGE OF ITALIA YACHTS
Combining the will of a boat with sporting ambitions, while still making it usable for cruising and with a stylish and trendy interior design, as is well known, is one of the most difficult exercises in the nautical world, but Italia Yachts in its history has already proven to be able to overcome similar challenges, having made the authentic compromise between the two worlds its winning weapon and the yard’s philosophy.
Of the new boat for the moment only a few renders of the exteriors have been released, but these are enough to immediately glimpse the stylistic signature of the Italian shipyard: a boat with well-proportioned volumes and a streamlined appearance, which will be offered as always in the race-ready Fuoriserie version and the more refined Bellissima for cruising.
