Might there be a few dozen billionaires among the 2,755 surveyed by Forbes around the world willing to buy a car costing more than 20 million euros?
Rolls Royce’s “boat”
That’s probably the question they asked themselves at BMW-owned Rolls Royce when they developed the design of the most expensive Rolls Royce in the car brand’s more than 100-year history, synonymous with extreme luxury on four wheels.
The second question they asked at Rolls Royce was: what means of locomotion can we be inspired by, akin to the world of the super rich? A boat or rather a superyacht, it is obvious!
In the world today there are 8,551 yachts sailing over 24 meters, at Rolls Royce they look for only about ten a year.
Thus, probably the most luxurious and expensive Rolls Royce ever was born. It is called the Boat Tail and is inspired in design, accessories, and details by a boat.
Just “launched,” three Rolls Royce Boat Tails have already been sold.
Rolls Royce Boat Tail, built like a superyacht
Like a superyacht, the new Rolls Royce is highly customized to the customer’s taste. The line resembles that of a supple boat. Especially in the “stern” where the light clusters are very narrow and arranged horizontally on a fine wood surface.
Obviously it is a convertible, but the closest part to a yacht is the trunk/chest. Here you will find the Hosting House with everything you need for a picnic. Two fridges for champagne and iced gin, cutlery by Christofle,” an ultratechnological retractable parasol, and two very light stools, made of carbon, of course.
Rolls Royce claims it takes four years to put together the 1,831 parts of the Rolls Royce Boat Tail. The waiting list is open.
