which will be launched by UYN at the
Genoa International Boat Show 2022
includes 9 garments dedicated to sailors. In addition to the technical qualities guaranteed by the use of technologically advanced yarns, the garments
have a casual design that allows them to be worn even once off the boat. The success of the
shoe unveiled in 2021
convinced UYN to work on a complete line dedicated to boaters. We present to you!
UYN’s Skipper line
The collection includes jerseys, polos, shorts, sweatshirts, jacket and windproof vest, all made from technical fabrics. Completing the outfit remains the shoe, the first garment made by UYN for the nautical segment, and the bestseller that kicked off the new collection. The company designs, tests and manufactures all the clothing in the Skipper line in the Mantua area, more precisely in Asola.
UYN Skipper Collection – Ergonomics and freedom of movement
UYN’s main focus was on theergonomics of the garments, a very important aspect for boaters. When you are on board, you need to be able to rely on comfortable, durable garments, but most importantly, have total freedom of movement. Using patented Hypermotion technology, UYN is able to produce the sleeves and shoulders of a garment from a single piece of fabric, without any seams. The elasticity of the fabric and the ergonomics of the design result in extremely comfortable garments that fit snugly against the body when worn. Combined with this are thermoregulation technologies to cool the body when it is hot, but also to prevent sudden chills, maintaining the ideal body temperature.
UYN Skipper Collection – Complete line for men and women
Inside the collection you will find everything you need to redo your wardrobe, with garments that are as perfect on the boat as they are on land. The entire Skipper line-composed of nine different garments-is available for both men and women. The first garment we find is the T-shirt, which, thanks to its breathable fabric and UPF 50+ protection, is also great for being in the sun all day. The polo shirt always stays cool and maintains body temperature, thanks in part to the Bi-flow micro-hole collar that increases ventilation. Then there are the two technical sweatshirts, one with a full-length zipper and one without a zipper. Both are hooded, dry quickly and retain body heat while dispersing moisture. Turning to shorts, UYN has included two different models within the collection. The first is a very soft and lightweight cotton sports shorts with open hand pockets and side mesh pocket and casual look. The second has a more technical appearance, is made of water-resistant and stretch fabric, with an ergonomic waistband. Seamless fabric on the buttocks makes the shorts very durable and ergonomic. On the leggings we find two front pockets with closures, in addition to the classic open side pockets. Completing the collection are the windproof and water-resistant vest and jacket, which protect excellently when needed, and fold up when not needed. In fact, both garments have a packable design; they can be folded inside one of the pockets to take up very little space in the suitcase.
UYN Skipper Collection – Made in Italy and environmentally sustainable production
The material from which the fabrics are made is the same as that of the Skipper shoe, Natex bio-based fiber. It is a yarn derived from castor beans that dries very quickly (50% faster than nylon) is very light and has a natural bacteriostatic effect. In addition to making its garments in Italy, UYN boasts a state-of-the-art production facility that uses only renewable sources, recycles textile waste and even microplastic fibers, which are captured through the use of special filters when washing garments. UYN’s commitment has earned the company STeP by Oeko TEX certification, which evaluates the entire textile production chain.
