Without them boating would be impossible. They are the blocks: but do you know how they are made? In this video, we followed the different stages of production of a technologically top-notch block, namely the RT100V from Italy’s Ubi Maior, from the design phase to on-board installation (in this case, of the Mylius 80 Twin Soul B).
Specifically, we documented the conceptualization, cutting and turning, milling and 3d printing of the block parts, assembly, and finally its “litmus test” at sea.
Every year, about 40,000 parts are produced in Ubi Maior’s Tuscan factories: 35 of these are used to make a block. Good viewing.
