If you love the sea and respect it when you sail in it (and beyond) you are already an eco sailor. And you don’t need to be an environmental fundamentalist.
It only takes small attentions that do not cost you anything to help save the sea and the planet from pollution. All you need to do, for example, is choose products that are environmentally friendly, but really green. Think about it, they don’t have any disadvantage compared to traditional ones, simply because of their characteristics they are environmentally friendly.
At Milano Yachting Week – The digital boat show there are many eco-friendly products with these characteristics.
Wandering through the stands of the largest digital boat show, we selected seven ideas to help you become an eco-mariner too. Here they are.
1st idea: Sunglasses made from boat scraps
An idea that is good for the environment, costs little and is “modest” that you can find in the store pavilion of Milano Yachting Week – The digital boat show.
Would you ever have thought of wearing sunglasses made from the scraps of marine plywood from a wooden boat? The Zen brand has already thought about it, as it has always been linked to the builders of self-built wooden boats or small shipyards and master shipwrights. Plus…these sunglasses are beautiful! Have we intrigued you? Find the glasses (in a range of six styles) by clicking here.
2nd idea: siding that looks like teak, but is super-echo cork
The way to a coating as beautiful as teak but eco-friendly is offered by Marine Cork with an amazing product. Marine Cork transforms cork into a high-tech product that looks as compact and smooth as a strip of teak. And walking on it gives a “soft” feeling.
It is environmentally friendly because the cork is the bark of the tree that is reformed and it is not necessary to cut down forests to obtain wooden planks, as happens with the “real” teak.
In addition, it has exceptional characteristics, such as the simple fact that it weighs less than a third of traditional or synthetic teak. To give you an example, a 40-square-foot area with Marine Cork. Find out how the people at Marine Cork make this eco-product by clicking here.
3rd idea: Antifouling that cleans itself…very eco!
The cleaner a boat’s hull is, the less it consumes at the same speed. That said, Omnirace, is the antifouling that lasts a year and is self-polishing. This means that the hull cleans itself as you sail. The more you leave port with your boat, the more it acts by bringing in biocides that keep marine flora out. Obviously this product of Boero respects all the anti-pollution regulations. Want to know how the very eco antifouling works, click here.
4th idea: the eco desalinator that works without a generator
You’d better look at how Osmosea has realized the new New 12 to realize how it really works thanks to the patented system of pressure intensification, which allows an energy recovery up to 80%. So the power supply can come directly from the batteries on board without installing new ones. And without generator, the main source of pollution, noise and costs. If you like the idea, click here.
5th idea: The beautiful and eco electric scooter
It will be one of the best electric scooters of the next years, totally “made in Italy” or rather “made in Torino”, very attentive to ecology. TO.TEM presents two safe and fast scooters, controlled also through app, with the best technology and driving comfort on the market, find out more, click here and don’t miss this product launch offer!
6th idea: The generator no longer has an engine, so it’s finally eco
Why is it revolutionary? Because Mobil Tech’s Zeus200 is a charger generator without a traditional engine. It weighs very little, takes up very little space, is quiet, is practically non-polluting and has no vibrations. It is also good for small boats.
There is a beautiful story about how the thermoelectric technology used by NASA now works, using the Seebeck effect, discovered in 1821, a brilliant intuition that you can find by clicking here.
7th idea: natural teak cladding and recycled PVC. More eco than this!
Synteak has created Composite Teak which is a brand new material made of 60% real teak and 40% PVC. The practical result is that it has the beauty of natural teak and all the advantages of practicality, reduced maintenance and durability of 100% synthetic teak. Teak Composite by Sinteak combines the merits of the natural product, teak, with that of PVC (but recycled and therefore environmentally friendly). To learn more, click here.
