The Beneteau Group, the world’s leading sailing and motor yachting giant, is moving up the management ladder. The yard has made official a series of changes in the various management positions. The “waltz” began with Jérôme de Metz, who for the last three years has played the combined role of chairman of the board and chief executive officer for the Beneteau Group, and has now decided to retire.

Bruno Thivoyon, 47 and currently serving as deputy CEO, will be the Group’s new CEO, while Italian Gianguido Girotti, 44, will take on the role of deputy and director of the Boat Division. Guidotti is currently the deputy CEO of the Boats Division and is in charge of product development strategy. He has the vision to bring the signatures of Lorenzo Argento and Roberto Biscontini to Beneteau for the relaunch of the First range.

The position of Chairman of the Board of Directors will be assigned to Yves Lyon-Caen, former Group Director. Louis-Claude Roux will continue to be Vice-Chairman of the Board.

These decisions were taken at the recent Group meeting held on 25th April, which redesigned the Board of Directors and approved the new positions. For the French giant, which also has brands such as Jeanneau and Lagoon within it, as well as the entire motor range of various brands, it is time for some major challenges. The first concerns the momentum of the boating industry, which has to tackle the delicate issue of supplies of raw materials and accessories, in crisis since the pandemic period. The other is the progressive renewal of the range, which has been largely underway for a few years now, but which will bring a few more pieces in the near future. It will be a shipyard that will continue to speak Italian, both in its management and in the vision of the boats bearing the Argento and Biscontini brands.
