Velista dell’Anno TAG Heuer 2022: how to vote

The online “poll” for the Velista dell’Anno will take place from February 25th at 1pm until 12pm on March 15th, on the dedicated website velistadellanno.giornaledellavela.com where you will be able to cast a maximum of 5 votes in support of your favourite candidates, one per category (Sailor of the Year, Young, Owner, Designer and Yacht Club). For security and authentication reasons, you will be asked to enter your email address before each vote. The “Most Voted” award will be reserved for the candidate who, overall, has totalled the highest number of votes in the online phase. For further information on voting, please write to speciali@panamaeditore.it

The public vote

The public vote, on velistadellanno.giornaledellavela.com (from February 25th to March 15th), is binding because it selects the first 3 of each category who will participate in the final on May 12th, where the jury of quality of GdV will decide the winners of the Velista dell’Anno TAG Heuer 2022. As always, our award has an important web dimension, which will go beyond the public’s decisive vote. We want to bring the stories of the sailors to all the fans who will not be able to be physically present at the final in Milan. And to do this we have something special planned. Once the three finalists have been decided, before the night of the champions on 12 May, we will present them to you on our social networks and websites www.giornaledellavela.com and www.milanoyachtingweek.com with dedicated interviews to tell and learn about their stories and the successes they have achieved. The games will be conducted by Mino Taveri, with the editorial staff of the Giornale della Vela and many guests, for a web “show”, in episodes, leading up to the final. Discover the rules, all the dates and how to vote.

In the selection of the magnificent 100, made by our editorial staff, as always we wanted to embrace the whole sailing world. The Velista dell’Anno TAG Heuer categories – Sailor of the Year, Owner, Young, Yacht Club and Designer– are the ones into which the 100 candidates will be divided and which you will be able to vote for from February 25th. In choosing the 100 candidates, for the categories Sailor and Young, we wanted to highlight all the sailors who have achieved significant sporting results at national and international level. Among the Owners, we have also included managers who have done something important in the world of sailing and shipyards.

Because, as you know, running a company is like leading a racing team. There will be not only racers, but also owners who have made their dreams come true in the ocean, or who have linked their name to cult boats. The Yacht Club category, on the other hand, encompasses all the clubs that distinguished themselves last season for the prestige of the sporting events they organised, for their educational activities promoting sailing, for their work with young people, or for the competitive results of their athletes.

And finally, we couldn’t miss out on the designers, because after all it is they who give shape to our love and allow us to enjoy our passion on board. There will also be the Most Voted award, the most voted for online, and the Velista dell’Anno Epic award, assigned by our editorial staff as a tribute to the career of a sailor or sailors who are fundamental to Italian sailing. By the way, on this last award, get ready for big surprises for the Night of Champions on Nay 12th because it will be something very special.
