Welcome to the era of “Turkish caiques 2.0.” That is, sailing megayachts built according to the latest technologies that combine the very high standards to which European shipyards (Perini Navi, Oceanco…) have accustomed us with the tradition of Turkish shipwrights.
MiTi One, the first “Turkish-style megayacht”
The first boat embodying this trend has just been launched. Named MiTi One, it has a steel hull, is a 34-meter-long ketch and has just touched the water at the Bodrum Oguz Marin shipyard in Bodrum. It is on its way to the French Riviera, where it will be put up for sale at nearly seven million euros and open for visits.
Already, it is a gamble, that of MiTi Navi(www.miti-navi.com), the brand that owns the yacht. Myths One, conceived and overseen by a multinational team, is the first in a series that will include-demand permitting-sailing yachts of 26, 34, 42, and 50 meters, all with naval architecture and interior design, aimed at the long-range cruising superyacht market.
MiTi One has an impressive volume of 198GT and accommodates 11 people in five cabins, with a crew of 4-6. Its main salon houses a lounge area to port with a formal dining area to starboard and a bar when guests enter the interior from the aft deck.
Elegant wood paneling is found everywhere, combined with soft furniture and deep-toned leathers. A second shaded dining area is located on the aft deck with an outdoor lounge and bathing platform a few steps away.
The sail area is 520 square meters of sail in a ketch configuration. Motor-wise, its two Baudouin 450hp diesel thrusters can propel MiTi One to a cruising speed of nine knots under power with a range in excess of 2,000 nautical miles.
