12 top accessories for your boat
ICOM / M94DE
Let’s begin our accessories review with the M94DE. With this new VHF, Icom has managed to integrate DSC, AIS and GPS in an object of only 61 x 146 x 44 mm. Features that, until now, you could only find on a fixed VHF. It is therefore not surprising that the product received a special mention at DAME. The VHF is also waterproof and buoyant. If it falls into the water, the display, keypad and DSC button start flashing. Click here to find out more
TM COMPANY / SNUBBER TWIST
Goodbye slackers and heavy mooring dampers. The Snubber Twist is characterised by its ease of use and its quick and simple attachment/removal: you can take it with you at all times and fit it to your lines immediately. The Snubber Twist is available in a multitude of colours and its design ensures that it will not leave picks or streaks on your boats during. Click here.
RAYMARINE / CYCLONE
Raymarine’s new Cyclone solid-state open-array radars feature innovative detection and display technologies, including Doppler target tracking, range fusion technology (combining short and long pulses into a single image) and variable speed rotation. Cyclone radars are available with 3, 4 or 6 foot antennas and two high power output options.
MASTERVOLT / MLI ULTRA 1250
This compact (330 x 173 x 210 mm) lithium-ion battery, which is smaller and lighter (15 kg) than its “competitors” using conventional technology, won its category (energy) at DAME. The nominal capacity of the battery is 100Ah and it is available in 12V and 24V versions. IP65 waterproof, it incorporates an intelligent battery management system. You can find it here in the 12V version and here in the 24V version.
CALYPSO / ULTRASONIC PORTABLE MINI

BEP MARINE / SMART BATTERY HUB
This all-in-one system is designed to simplify on-board battery management with remote activated switches, automatic voltage sensitive switching and parallel emergency functionality. Enclosed in a rugged, waterproof, easy-to-install case, it transmits battery voltage and state of charge via NMEA2000 to the onboard multifunction displays. Find it here
B&G / NEMESIS
Nemesis is B&G’s ‘2.0’ repeater. Available with 9 and 12 inch screens, it is the premium solution for data display. It can be mounted either horizontally or vertically, making it ideal for mast or stand installation. Click here
BONOMI / JOY

CRUSHMASTER/CM-ONE
Long cruises on medium to large boats? Crushmaster Marine’s new patented “CM-ONE” trash compactor reduces the volume by up to 80%! Dimensions: 510 x 750 x 890 mm.

A 60kW continuous mixed electric-hydrogen power generator, the REXH2 is the ideal solution to combine with batteries for zero-emission full electric navigation and powering on-board systems, or for creating a diesel-electric system.
GARMIN / SURROUND VIEW
Winner in its category at DAME (electronics), the system uses six cameras to generate a composite aerial image of the area around the boat and offers automotive-style augmented reality mooring aid functions. We talked about it in detail here.
SCANSTRUT / ROKK WIRELESS NEST PHONE CHARGING POCKET
Here comes the “nest” in which to charge your smartphone, just by placing it inside! This solution is designed for the boat, with a non-slip mat for the phone, which is nevertheless housed in an IPX6 waterproof case.
