Do you want to travel by boat at no cost, exploring pristine paradises, without getting up from your couch at home? Take a trip to www.voyagesofagape.com‘s blog: we stumbled upon this site by accident, which chronicles the adventures of Josh Shankle and Rachel Moore.
He a former mattress salesman, she a diver and waitress, both with the spirit of adventure and freedom in their blood. They fell in love and after six years of working, dreaming and saving, they decided to drop everything and go live aboard Agápe, a 1984 Tayana Vancouver 42′ that they scouted in 2016 in Baja California, Mexico.
From there, their exploration of the Pacific began and has not stopped since: Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Panama, Galapagos and then set their sights on Polynesia. Their blog is littered with breathtakingly beautiful shots. The kind that makes you think, looking out your city window, in the midst of a coronavirus pandemic, “what am I still doing here?”
By the way, Josh and Rachel spent their “lockdown” among the atolls of the Tuamotu — waiting to resume their unhurried world tour.
On board Agápe, life flows happily, between fishing for food, odd jobs on board, exploration in the Central American forest, swimming among the wild and unspoiled atolls, contact with local people and volunteer work. Josh and Rachel’s is a good story. But above all, a possible story. Thank you for making us dream!
