The new Dufour era gallops fast. After the Dufour 470 (put on display at the Milano Yachting Week) and the Dufour 530, unveiled at Boot Dusseldorf 2020, the French giant, owned by Fountaine Pajot, launches a third model: the new Dufour 61, of which we’re pleased to show the first exclusive photo issued by the shipyard and that can be visited at Race Nautica booth at Milano Yachting Week. Expectations were very high since the market had been waiting for a new model of this size for a long time.
Once again, design is by Umberto Felci who has preserved the family feeling of the range, replicating some of the innovations of the 530. The bow is completely straight, thus maximizing the waterline length of the boat. The hull design of the Dufour 61 is characterized by a very high stern edge and a hull that tightens a lot at the waterline so as to prefigure two configurations, one slightly wet in light wind, and the second sustained by dynamic support of the edge in strong wind. Equally noteworthy is the aesthetic effect offered by the “carved” line along the side at the height of the portholes, useful for masking an important free board. The stern accommodates a sunbathing area with an outdoor kitchen inside, to fully enjoy the boat during summer cruises.
The Dufour 61 offers two different galley layouts, offering wide living spaces and abundant natural light inside.
The layout with the galley positioned at the bow leaves room for a stunning full-beam dinette. The same beam is maintained in the version with the galley on the left, which becomes even more spacious, while the sleeping quarters can include three or four cabins. The tender garage is perfect to accommodate a deflated tender.
